Muscle Car Drags
In another area of Studebaker drag racing, we have raced a R 3 Challenger in Michigan, at the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags. The car, nicknamed "The Plain Brown Wrapper" is owned by George Krem and I was asked to drive it.

Last Year the car raced 11 different cars and beat 10 of them. This year we ran 20 time and won 17. The 3 losses came when either the supercharger belts slipped,came off, or we lost traction so bad we had to let off.
The last run for the little 305 Challenger was to answer a challange from a Yenko 427 Camaro. The Challenger won with a 13.45 at 108.14. Earlier in the day with better traction she ran a best of a 13.202. The car could run in the 12's with decent traction. Remember, all these time were run with street tires and mufflers.
